DAY 1 – Arrive in Milwaukee
Begin your Great Wisconsin Business tour with the Harley-Davidson Motor Company that true American Icon everyone knows world-wide. Enjoy the Harley-Davidson Museum to learn about the history, passion and fun of American’s #1 recognized and celebrated Brand since 1903. The museum features the oldest known Harley-Davidson motorcycle as well as over 300+ motorcycles which span the 105+ year history. DAY 2 – Machinery and Beer
Today explore the companies that have influenced our city, country and the world. We’ll begin with a visit to the Bucyrus Museum which explores the rich heritage of the machines, people and culture of Bucyrus which has been headquartered in Milwaukee since 1893 and is the world leader in the design and manufacture of high productivity mining equipment for surface and underground mining. Learn about the equipment designed and built for digging the Panama Canal! Our next stop is the stately home of Maria and Capt. Frederick Pabst, considered the jewel of Milwaukee’s famous avenue of mansions. Built in the 1890’s it represents the epitome of America’s Gilded Age Splendor in Milwaukee. We’ll continue on to lunch at Best Place located within the historic Olde Pabst Brewery first known as Best Brewery beginning in 1844. When you enter the Blue Ribbon Hall, you will instantly be transported back to time when things were a little tougher and yet life was simpler. Onward to Miller Valley, home to the MillerCoors Brewery Company; experience everything from Fredrick Miller’s arrival in Milwaukee to the high-speed production lines used today. Highlights of the tour include the historic caves and perhaps a sample or two. This afternoon take some time to learn about the all-American Taste of Home Family of magazines and enjoy some shopping in the quaint Historic Village of Greendale. Milwaukee, WI
DAY 3 – Mustard in Middleton and Fireside in Ft Atkinson
Today enjoy the city of Middleton beginning with a visit to the unique and one-of-a-kind National Mustard Museum, home of the world’s largest collection of mustards and mustard memorabilia. Sample hundreds of mustards and of course, visit the Gift Shop. Your group can enjoy lunch and a bit of shopping at one of the many restaurants and shops in Greenway Station or Historic Downtown Middleton. Tour Capital Brewery Co., Inc. from rich and dark-tasting German beers to newer styles that please a wide variety of beer fans. The brewery began more than 25 years ago, before “local” was the buzzword of the day. The brewery has remained focused on recapturing Wisconsin’s brewing heritage while still moving forward. How about a visit to Death’s Door Distillery ? “Death’s Door” takes its name of the body of water between Door County peninsula and Washington Island from which they get organic hard red winter wheat to make vodka, gin and white whisky. So perhaps a distillery tour and some tasty sample.
Tonight, enjoy dinner and a show at The Fireside Dinner Theatre in Fort Atkinson – Wisconsin’s only Equity Dinner Theatre. You’ll be treated to a fabulous meal, a spectacular Broadway musical or original revue, delightful gift shops, and fantastic service from your hosts, The Klopcic Family who hold the honor of being named, “America’s Best Restaurant Family”. DAY 4 – Bikes and Bakeries
As you travel east to Racine stop and visit Trek Bikes world headquarters in Waterloo, WI and learn about the history of Trek, their athletes, and company. After walking through the historic collection of Treks in the atrium, the tour proceeds through the creative department’s design studio, and passes the Race Team Shop, where every bike used by our athletes is built and inspected. Guests will also get an inside look at one of Wisconsin’s most progressive and green companies. Upon arrival in Racine, enjoy a Danish Kringle on your tour of Larsen’s Bakery a multi-generational family run traditional Danish bakery. Our next stop will be at the worldwide corporate headquarters of SC Johnson – a Family Company which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Learn about the rich history of this American company, visit Fortaleza Hall which honors the spirit of adventure and innovations of the Johnson family and company. Our final night in Wisconsin we will enjoy a delicious dinner with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Racine, WI (D)
DAY 5 – Tractors, Jelly Beans and Home
Begin your morning with a tour of Case New Holland Factory in Racine. You’ll experience the building of one of these industry-leading tractors from specialty grape harvesters and massive combine harvesters in agriculture, as well as agile skid steer loaders and powerful hydraulic excavators used in construction. On your way home stop at the Jelly Belly Distribution Center for a tour and shop for a sweet treat in their outlet store.
