There’s nothing better than a local to show you around town, and our own Marie has put all her homeland favorites into this enchanting tour. Art, history, architecture and natural splendors all vie for attention as we tour this charming region. We’ll tour a brewery from the Holy Roman Empire, go spelunking (on a special tourist train), see local wine production (and taste some of the product), and cruise on the Danube. This is an excellent tour for anyone who wants to explore a little of their Slavic roots – or someone who just loves pierogies!

We return back to town and visit the Jan Becher Museum where we get to taste the traditional herbal liquor named “Bechorovka” after its creator Jan Becher. Around 24 mummies are preserved in their robes, holding the rosary beads they were buried with. After this unusual (and a bit dark) experience, we lighten our mood with a tour of Villa Tugendhat. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a perfect example of early functionalism and modern architecture in Europe. We check into our hotel where we have dinner tonight.
